First Donations!
Emma's Hope has begun to receive donations. The FIRST one was from our great friends, the Lloyd family. Next, was one from Momou (my mama's mom). Third, was my great aunt and uncle, Sherri and Greg. Fourth, was from Pastor Ty and Mrs. Janine. I am happy to report that I'm mailing my first check to Samaritan's Purse for $815, which includes the $600 from my parents. I really hope that many of you will take the opportunity to help provide clean water for a needy community.... because every child deserves water to live and the Living Water!

Emma's Hope First Public Speech
Persuasive Speech at City Gate Speakers on Thursday, March 31, 2011
Imagine running with your friends on a hot, sunny day… when you are done, you want a drink of water… but there is no water at your home, so you have to walk and walk and walk…finally you come to a stream. You bend down, scoop up some water in your hands and take a drink…but it doesn’t taste good and it’s dirty. Sadly, you walk back to your home in the hot, hot sun…
In 2009, at Christmas ( I was five years old) I got $20 and a Samaritan’s Purse catalog. I could buy anything I wanted for children in need. While I was looking at the catalog, I saw that many children don’t have clean water to drink. I said to my parents, “that’s not fair.” I decided that day to work hard and raise $10,000 to buy a water well for a village.
A person can only live about 10 days without clean water to drink. When you don’t have enough water, your brain can’t think well, your body feels tired, your stomach rumbles, and you are thirsty. All you can think about is getting a drink. But what if there is no water?
I’ve started Emma’s Hope with the goal of giving clean water to thirsty kids, so that one day they can hear about Jesus’ love and understand it. $10,000 is a lot of money. My family stopped getting Cable TV last year. My parents gave me the $600 we saved to start Emma’s Hope.
I really need your help to raise $10,000. I’ve brought information sheets about Emma’s Hope and some of my plans. Will you please pray about giving and helping children have clean water? You can mail your donation back in the envelope I provided and I will send it to Samaritan’s Purse for the water well.
Think about this verse when deciding what you will give.
“With JOY you will draw water from the well of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
Thank you!

Welcome to Emma's Hope
Emma's Hope was created by 7 year old Emma Grace in response to the great need she noticed. In 2009, Emma (at that time 5 years old) received $20 and a Samaritan's Purse catalog. She could choose any gift for a needy child. While searching through the catalog, she saw that many children don't have clean water to drink. She told her parents, "That's just not fair." She asked us if she could buy a water well. We told her YES and thus began the idea for Emma's Hope. The goal of Emma's Hope is to raise $10,000 for the purchase of a water well in a needy village. We know that children can't begin to focus on God's love for them while they are thirsty and dehydrated. Stay tuned for the plans and progress of Emma's Hope. Pray about how you can be involved in changing lives... with clean water and Living Water!
